Spartansburg, PA – Fatal Car Accident at Buells Corners Rd & PA-89 Intersection

Spartansburg, PA (January 14, 2023) – One person was killed in a fatal car accident that took place at an intersection in Spartansburg on Friday evening, January 13.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, the accident happened at the intersection of Buells Corners Road and PA-89. Police confirmed that a driver was in a Honda traveling west when they suddenly pulled through the stop sign in the area. They were involved in a collision with a Ford Expedition, causing the two vehicles severe damage. Both of the vehicles landed off the side of the road and slammed into different trees.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The driver of the Honda, who has not yet been formally identified, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. The 53-year-old driver of the Ford, as well as his passenger, both sustained minor injuries and were hospitalized.

The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for some time as police worked to clear the scene. This led to delays until the scene was cleared.

No further details have been released, but the investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
