Tobyhanna, PA (April 22, 2023) – Around 11 a.m. on Saturday morning, April 22, a man was killed in a fatal two-vehicle crash in Tobyhanna.
According to Monroe County officials, the accident happened in the southbound lanes of I-380 around the area of mile marker 10.8. Police confirmed that two vehicles were traveling on the highway when they were involved in a severe collision with each other due to reasons that are not entirely known. The vehicles sustained severe damages as a result of the collision.
Several responders, including fire crews and local EMS crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One man, identified as a 33-year-old man from Carbondale, was tragically pronounced dead at the hospital after the accident. It is not known if anyone was hurt in the accident.
The roadway was completely blocked in the area for an extended period of time after the accident. This led to delays until the scene was cleared hours later.
No further details have been released, but the investigation continues.
