Mechanicsburg, PA – Serious Motorcycle Accident at W Lisburn Rd & PA-15
Mechanicsburg, PA (May 3, 2022) – One person was injured in a motorcycle accident that took place at an intersection in Mechanicsburg on Monday afternoon, May 2.
Upper Allen Township Police confirmed that the collision happened at the intersection of West Lisburn Road and PA-15 around 4:45 p.m. An early investigation showed that a vehicle was attempting to make a left turn at the intersection when it failed to yield. This caused the vehicle to collide with the motorcyclist, who was traveling east at the time. Police later confirmed that the vehicle made a turn directly into the path of the motorcycle, which led to severe damages.
Several local Mechanicsburg responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The motorcyclist, who has not yet been identified, was seriously injured in the accident. They were rushed to the hospital for treatment.
The roadway was blocked at the intersection for an extended period of time as police worked to clear the scene. This took a little less than an hour.
No further details have been released but the investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
Our thoughts are with the injured motorcyclist in hopes of a full recovery.
