Mcveytown, PA – Woman Killed in Fatal Car Accident on US-522
Mcveytown, PA (November 16, 2022) – A woman was killed in a fatal car accident that took place on a major roadway in Mcveytown on Tuesday afternoon, November 15.
According to Pennsylvania State Police, the accident happened around 4:30 p.m. in the southbound lanes of US-522 around the area of Twin Hollow Road. Police confirmed that three vehicles were involved in a chain-reaction collision due to reasons that are not fully known. The involved vehicles were extensively damaged as a result of the accident.
Mifflin County responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were called to the scene to help those in need. One of the involved parties, identified as a 49-year-old woman, was tragically pronounced dead after being taken to the hospital. Nobody else was hurt in the accident.
Due to the severity of the crash, a large portion of the road was blocked in the area for some time. This led to delays until the scene was cleared.
