Philadelphia, PA (November 15, 2022) – Around 10 p.m. on the night of Monday, November 14, three people were killed in a fatal house fire in Philadelphia.
According to Philadelphia Police, the fire broke out in a home at 3100 North Croskey Street. When fire crews arrived at the scene, they discovered that smoke was engulfing a home in the area. Fire crews jumped into action to bring the fire under control and save those who needed help.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were at the scene to help those with injuries. Unfortunately, two people were tragically pronounced dead at the scene because they were unable to escape the fire. The parties were only identified as an adult male and female. A 57-year-old man who was found inside the home was initially hospitalized but has tragically been pronounced deceased since then. One person was also hospitalized in critical condition.
The area was blocked off for an extended period of time. Fire crews worked to bring the fire under control, which took some time.
The investigation into the circumstances of the fire continues.
We offer our warmest condolences to the families and friends of the parties who lost their lives in this incident. We also hope that the injured party will receive a speedy recovery.
Residential fires take place every single day in Pennsylvania. Though some are quickly brought under control by fire crews, others blaze out of control and lead to extensive damages. In fact, some fires lead to fatalities in those involved. In 2020, it was reported that approximately 6 people were killed out of every 1,000 fires throughout Pennsylvania.
