McKees Rocks, PA – Anita Bivins Killed in Fatal Car Crash at Island Ave & McCoy Rd

McKees Rocks, PA (April 1, 2023) – Around 2:27 p.m. on the afternoon of Saturday, April 1, a woman was killed in a fatal car accident that took place at an intersection in McKees Rocks.

According to Allegheny County officials, the accident happened at the intersection of Island Avenue and McCoy Road. Police confirmed that two or more vehicles entered the intersection at the same time, which caused them to collide with one another. The involved vehicles were badly damaged in the accident and had to be towed from the scene.

Several local responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One of the individuals involved in the accident, identified as 60-year-old Anita Bivins, was tragically pronounced dead several hours after the accident at a local hospital. Nobody else sustained injuries in the collision.

The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for some time. This led to delays until the scene was cleared.

No further details have been released but the investigation into the collision continues.
