Philadelphia, PA (April 2, 2023) – A woman was critically injured in a serious pedestrian accident that took place at a Philadelphia intersection on the night of Saturday, April 1.
According to Philadelphia Police, the accident happened at 11 p.m. at the intersection of Broad Street and Lombard Street. Police confirmed that a woman was crossing the street at the intersection when she was suddenly struck by a passenger vehicle traveling through the area. The driver stopped and remained at the scene, claiming that they were unable to stop their vehicle in time when they noticed the woman.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other Philadelphia responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The woman, who was not identified, was severely injured in the collision. She was rushed to the hospital for treatment of critical injuries, though her current condition is not yet known.
The roadway was blocked at the intersection for some time after the accident. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible.
