Allentown, PA – Box Truck Involved in Serious Crash on Rte 22
Allentown, PA (April 3, 2023) – Pennsylvania State Police reported that a serious accident involving a box truck took place in Allentown on the morning of Monday, April 3.
Police confirmed that the accident happened at 7 a.m. on Route 22 around the area of Route 309 and Cedar Crest Boulevard. Police claim that a box truck was traveling in the area when it was involved in a collision with several other vehicles due to reasons that are not yet known. The box truck then went off the side of the road and struck a median barrier, leading to extensive damage. The other vehicles involved in the crash were a tractor-trailer and two sedans.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. EMS crews were present at the scene, helping those with injuries. Several parties were hurt in the accident and were hospitalized, though their conditions are not yet known.
All lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for an extended period of time. This led to delays until the scene was cleared.
