Mechanicsburg, PA – Teen Killed in Fatal Scooter Accident on Carlisle Pke

Mechanicsburg, PA (March 30, 2023) – On Wednesday night, March 29, a teen was killed in a fatal scooter accident on a major roadway in Mechanicsburg.

According to Cumberland County officials, the accident happened around 8 p.m. on Carlisle Pike at the intersection of Lambs Gap Road. Police confirmed that three young boys were crossing the road when one of the boys was struck by a passenger vehicle traveling through the area. The child, identified as a 13-year-old, was on a scooter at the time of the accident.

Several local responders in Mechanicsburg, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to assist those in need. The 13-year-old boy who was on the scooter was rushed to Penn State Health Holy Spirit Medical Center. He was tragically pronounced dead while there due to traumatic injuries.

The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for several hours after the accident. This led to delays until the scene was cleared.

No further details have been released, but the investigation into the collision remains ongoing.
