McKean, PA – One Killed in Fatal Motorcycle Accident on Edinboro Rd

McKean, PA (August 19, 2023) – One person was killed in a fatal motorcycle accident that took place in McKean on the afternoon of Saturday, August 19.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, the accident happened at 3:30 p.m. at 10000 Edinboro Road (Route 99). Police confirmed that a pickup truck, later identified as a dark blue Dodge Ram, struck a motorcyclist in the area due to reasons that are not fully known. The driver of the pickup then fled the scene southbound onto Hamilton Road instead of remaining on the scene.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The motorcyclist, who has not yet been formally identified, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. Nobody else was hurt in the accident.

The roadway was blocked in northbound and southbound lanes in the area. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible.

Police did not say if the driver has been located related to the accident but have said that he is believed to be a male in his 50s.

No further details have been released at this time. Police continue their investigation into the collision.
