Ridley Park, PA – Man Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Accident in Delaware County

Ridley Park, PA (August 15, 2023) – A man was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident involving a garbage truck while on the job in Ridley Park on Tuesday, August 15.

According to officials, the accident happened in an unknown area of Ridley Park, Delaware County. Police confirmed that there was a man working in the area when he was struck by a garbage truck driven by a driver for J.P. Mascaro & Sons Garbage. The driver was attempting to back up the vehicle at the time of the accident, causing the worker to be pulled under the wheels of the truck.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other local responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The worker, identified only as a 31-year-old man, was crushed and tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. Nobody else was hurt as a result of the collision.

The area was blocked off for an extended period of time after the accident.
