Burgettstown, PA – Denise Pierce-Wilson Killed in Fatal Crash on Steubenville Pke

Burgettstown, PA (April 19, 2022) – On Sunday, April 17, a woman was killed in a fatal car accident that took place on a highway in Burgettstown.

According to Washington County Police, the accident happened on the Steubenville Pike when one vehicle was attempting to pass another. The vehicle that was being passed was attempting to make a left turn into its driveway. The first vehicle then lost control after the vehicles collided. It crashed into a guide rail and then a telephone pole off the side of the road.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other local responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The passenger inside the first vehicle, identified as Denise Pierce-Wilson, was rushed to Weirton Medical Center with severe injuries. She was tragically pronounced dead while there. Several other passengers were also hospitalized with unknown injuries.

The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
