Rebersburg, PA (April 20, 2022) – An Amish man sustained injuries in a rear-end accident that happened in Rebersburg on Wednesday morning, April 20.
According to Miles Township officials, the accident happened around 7 a.m. at the intersection of Brush Valley Road and Rockey Top Drive. A driver was traveling in the area of the intersection when he claimed that his vision was obscured by the sunlight. He was unable to see a horse-and-buggy in front of him and slammed into the back of it. The buggy sustained severe damage as a result of the accident.
Paramedics and numerous other local responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The Amish man was severely injured in the collision. He was rushed to Geisinger Medical Center by medical helicopter but his current condition is not yet known.
One lane of traffic was blocked in the area of the intersection until 11 a.m. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues. Police will update with more information as it is available.
