Myerstown, PA (April 16, 2022) – A man was killed in a fatal motorcycle accident that took place on Thursday afternoon, April 14, in Myerstown.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, the accident happened on West Washington Avenue. A motorcyclist was traveling east when an SUV started to enter the roadway from a local parking lot. The SUV collided with the motorcycle as it was crossing into traffic. This led to extensive damage to the motorcycle.

Several local responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The 18-year-old motorcyclist was immediately flown to Hershey Medical Center for traumatic injuries but was later pronounced deceased while there. The 65-year-old driver of the SUV had a minor injury and was not hospitalized.

The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time as police worked to clear the scene.

No further details have been released. The investigation into the accident remains ongoing.
