Uniontown, PA – Two Injured in Car Accident at New Salem Rd & Stoney Point Rd
Uniontown, PA (February 23, 2022) – Two people were injured in a car accident that took place at an intersection in Uniontown on Tuesday evening, February 22.
According to Fayette County officials, the accident happened around 7:45 p.m. at the intersection of New Salem Road and Stoney Point Road. Two vehicles were traveling in the area when they allegedly entered the intersection at the same time, causing them to forcefully collide with one another. The vehicles involved in the accident were extensively damaged due to the collision.
Several responders, including local fire crews and paramedics, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One person was taken to the hospital by medical helicopter with serious injuries. Another person was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance. Their current identities and conditions are not yet known.
Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked at the intersection for several hours. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the accident remains ongoing at this time.
