Wrightstown Township, PA (December 20, 2024) – According to area officers, a 29-year-old woman was killed Thursday in a fiery car crash in Wrightstown Township.
The accident happened just after 9:00 p.m. in the 600 block of Swamp Road. Following the collision, which apparently involved a truck as well as an SUV, a Jeep Cherokee burst into flames.
Firefighters from the Lingohocken Fire Company and the Northampton Township Fire Department arrived on the scene and immediately went to work to extricate the driver, who was still trapped in the driver's seat, and to extinguish the fire.
The driver, who suffered severe burns, was transported to St. Mary Medical Center by the Newtown Ambulance Squad, where she was pronounced dead. No further details have been released, but the investigation into the accident continues. Police will update with new information as it is available.
We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the deceased woman's family. Our thoughts are with the injured in hopes of their full recovery.
