Pleasantville, PA (September 29, 2023) – A fatal accident reported in Bedford County claimed one person’s life on Wednesday morning, September 27.
Officers with the Pennsylvania State Police were dispatched to the scene of the accident just after 6:00 a.m.
According to preliminary investigations, a Jeep Wrangler was traveling on Route 56, Quaker Valley Road, during the morning hours. For unknown reasons, the vehicle collided head-on with a Dodge Ram pickup truck near the intersection of Rouzer Road.
The driver of the Jeep, identified as 43-year-old Matthew Myers of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, was removed from the vehicle. Myers was fatally injured and pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the Dodge was transported to Conemaugh Hospital for the treatment of serious injuries.
Officers with the Pennsylvania State Police are currently investigating the crash.
