Pittsburgh, PA – Fatal Head-on Collision on McKees Rocks Bridge

Pittsburgh, PA (December 17, 2022) – One person was killed in a fatal head-on collision that took place on a roadway in Pittsburgh on the evening of Saturday, December 17.

According to Pittsburgh officials, the accident happened around 5:45 p.m. on McKees Rocks Bridge. Police confirmed that two vehicles were traveling in the area when one crossed into the other lane of traffic, striking a second head-on. The involved vehicles were badly damaged as a result of the collision and had to be towed from the scene.

Several responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were called to the scene to help those in need. One person, who has not yet been formally identified, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. One other victim was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, while a third was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and has since been listed in stable condition.

The roadway was blocked in several lanes of traffic in the area of the accident for a period of time.
