Philadelphia, PA - Woman Dead in Pedestrian Accident on I-95 at Bartram Ave

Philadelphia, PA (November 16, 2024) – All lanes have reopened after a crash on Interstate 95 on Friday afternoon, November 15, had traffic jammed near the Philadelphia-Delaware county line.

Pennsylvania State Police troopers later confirmed on Friday night that a woman pedestrian was struck and killed. The southbound side of the I-95 was shut down between the Bartram Avenue exit and Prospect Park.

The Philadelphia Office of Emergency Management said police diverted the traffic near Penrose Avenue but that drivers should avoid the area. No further details were released during the interim, however, and it's unclear if citations or charges are pending for the motorist involved. An investigation remains ongoing in the meantime.
