McKees Rocks, PA – Jonathan Smith Killed in Workplace Accident on River Rd

McKees Rocks, PA (May 6, 2023) – Around 1:35 p.m. on the afternoon of Friday, May 5, a man was killed in a fatal workplace in McKees Rocks.

According to Allegheny County officials, the accident happened at 100 River Road in an industrial warehouse. Police confirmed that a worker was completing their duties in the warehouse when they were involved in an industrial-related accident due to reasons that are not yet known. No other workers were involved in the incident.

Paramedics and several other local McKees Rocks responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The employee, who has since been identified as 42-year-old Jonathan Smith, was tragically pronounced dead a few minutes after the accident. Nobody else was hurt.

The area was blocked off for some time following the accident.

Police have not released any further details regarding the accident. They continue their investigation into the circumstances leading up to the accident at this time.
