Allentown, PA (May 7, 2023) – A motorcycle accident with injuries occurred on a major roadway in Allentown on the morning of Sunday, May 7.
According to Pennsylvania State Police, the accident happened around 10:50 a.m. in the westbound lanes of PA-22 around the area of Cedar Crest Boulevard. Police confirmed that a motorcyclist was headed west in the area when they were involved in a serious collision with a passenger vehicle. The motorcycle was badly damaged in the accident.
Several local responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The motorcyclist, who has not yet been formally identified, was seriously injured in the collision after they were thrown off the motorcycle and onto the ground. They were hospitalized, though their current condition is not yet known.
All lanes of traffic were blocked in the area of the accident for some time. This led to extensive delays until the scene was cleared.
