Halifax, PA – Man Killed in Fatal Tractor-Trailer Collision on PA-225

Halifax, PA (March 17, 2023) – A man was killed in a fatal tractor-trailer collision that took place at an intersection in Halifax on Thursday afternoon, March 16.

According to Pennsylvania State Patrol officials, the accident happened in the afternoon hours at the intersection of PA-225 and Mountain House Road. Police confirmed that an SUV was traveling in the area when the driver made a turn at the intersection, which is when their vehicle was struck by a tractor-trailer. The SUV was badly damaged in the accident.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. A passenger inside the SUV, who has since been identified as 44-year-old Matthew Napoleoni of Lykens, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. The woman passenger inside the vehicle was hospitalized, though her current condition is not yet known.

The roadway was blocked in several lanes of traffic for an extended period of time. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible.
