Butler, PA – Two Injured in Serious Car Accident at PA-8 & Airport Rd

Butler, PA (March 24, 2023) – At 4:15 p.m. on the afternoon of Friday, March 24, a serious car accident with injuries occurred at an intersection in Butler.

According to Penn Township Police, the accident happened at the intersection of PA-8 and Airport Road. Police confirmed that two drivers were traveling in the area when they collided head-on with one another. Police confirmed that a red pickup truck was traveling in the area when they crossed into the northbound lanes of traffic and collided head-on with another vehicle. Both vehicles were extensively damaged and had to be towed from the scene.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. Two people were seriously injured in the accident and taken to the hospital by medical helicopter. One person was injured, treated, and then taken into custody for attempting to flee the scene of the accident.

Due to the severity of the accident, a large portion of the roadway was blocked. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible.
