Bethlehem Twp., PA – Man Loses Life in Car Crash on Route 22 near Route 33 Interchange
Bethlehem Twp., PA (October 7, 2023) – A 22-year-old man from Bethlehem lost his life as a result of a wrong-way collision that took place on Thursday in Northampton County.
The accident occurred at around 10:40 a.m. on October 5.
Reports provided by the Pennsylvania State Police out of Bethlehem Township indicate that a red Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck was traveling south on the northbound side of Route 33. As the vehicle exited the roadway and headed west on Route 22 E., it collided with a 1997 Honda Civic near the Route 33 interchange. A black 2002 Chevrolet Silverado was also involved in the accident.
The drivers of both pickup trucks were injured and transported to St. Luke’s Hospital Anderson Campus in Bethlehem Township, Pennsylvania, for emergency treatment.
The driver of the Honda, identified as 22-year-old John Michael Woodburn, was fatally injured. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Northampton County coroner.
The accident is currently being investigated by the police.
