Wattsburg, PA – Man Injured in Motorcycle Accident on Rte 89 Near Fairgrounds

Wattsburg, PA (June 17, 2023) – A man was injured in a motorcycle accident that took place on a major roadway in Wattsburg on the afternoon of Saturday, June 17.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, the accident happened around 1:15 p.m. on Route 89 around the area of the Erie County Fair Grounds. Police confirmed that a motorcyclist was traveling in the area when they were suddenly involved in a crash with a pickup truck due to reasons that are not entirely known. The motorcycle sustained severe damage in the collision.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The motorcyclist, who has not yet been identified, was seriously injured in the accident. They were airlifted to UPMC Hamot by medical helicopter. The truck driver’s condition is not yet known.

The roadway was blocked in the area for some time. This led to delays until the scene was cleared.
