Thorndale, PA (October 12, 2022) – A man was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident that took place in a parking lot in Thorndale on Wednesday afternoon, October 12.
According to Thorndale Police, the accident happened around 2:30 p.m. at the Giant supermarket on Municipal Road. Police confirmed that an elderly man was walking through the parking lot when he was suddenly struck by a silver Dodge minivan near the area of the local Wells Fargo Bank. The victim was pulled along under the vehicle until it quickly came to a stop.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other local responders were called to the scene to help those in need. Firefighters attempted to pull the adult male pedestrian out from under the vehicle. They performed life-saving measures but were unable to save him. He was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries.
Due to the severity of the accident, a portion of the parking lot was blocked off entirely until 5 p.m.
