Philadelphia, PA (June 26, 2025) – A multi-vehicle crash was reported Thursday night in the Hunting Park neighborhood of Philadelphia, resulting in at least one person being hurt.

The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. on June 26 at the intersection of Roosevelt Boulevard and Old York Road. According to local sources, multiple vehicles collided at the intersection under unknown circumstances. Emergency medical services were dispatched to the scene to treat the victims. Paramedics provided care to at least one injured individual before transferring them to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

Due to the severity of the crash, the area was temporarily closed off to allow police and emergency crews to investigate and clear the roadway. The closure caused delays for motorists in the area.

We hope those injured in this accident recover quickly.

Car Accidents in Pennsylvania

Motor vehicle accidents in Pennsylvania continue to be a public safety concern. According to data from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, there were more than 115,000 reportable traffic accidents in the state last year, with over 61,000 injuries. Many of these crashes happen in urban areas like Philadelphia, where traffic congestion and aggressive driving are more common.

When it comes to auto accidents, understanding common injury types can help victims know what to expect:

  • Whiplash and Neck Injuries: Sudden collisions often result in the head snapping forward and backward, causing damage to the soft tissues in the neck. Whiplash is one of the most common injuries and may take days to fully manifest. Symptoms include stiffness, pain, and limited motion.
  • Fractures and Broken Bones: Broken bones frequently occur in high-impact crashes. Arms, legs, ribs, and facial bones are especially vulnerable. Treatment may involve casting, surgery, or extended rehabilitation.
  • Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBIs): Even minor head injuries can result in concussions or more severe brain trauma. TBIs can affect memory, cognition, and emotional health. Immediate care is critical for minimizing long-term damage.
  • Internal Injuries: Blunt force trauma during a crash may injure internal organs like the liver, spleen, or lungs. These injuries may not be visible right away and often require emergency surgery.
  • Spinal Cord Injuries: Spinal trauma can lead to partial or complete paralysis, depending on the location and severity. Victims often face long-term therapy and adjustments in daily living.
  • Soft Tissue Injuries: Bruising, strains, and ligament damage can occur in even low-speed accidents. While less visible, these injuries can still lead to chronic pain and mobility issues.
