Philadelphia, PA – Car Crash Involving Police Cruiser on N 5th St Injures Several
Philadelphia, PA (December 30, 2022) – Injuries were reported in a serious car accident that took place on a roadway in Philadelphia on the morning of Friday, December 30.
According to Philadelphia Police, the accident happened around 5:15 a.m. at 4900 North 5th Street near the area of Ruscomb. Police confirmed that a driver was in a Toyota and speeding northbound. The driver crashed into a pickup truck, which then caused it to strike a parked vehicle and a police cruiser. The involved vehicles were badly damaged as a result of the collision.
Several responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were called to the scene to help those in need. One person was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. The officer was also hospitalized but is expected to be okay.
Police believe that the driver in the Toyota was fleeing the scene of another crash when the second accident happened. Police did not say if the driver will be facing charges for her role in the accident.
