Kidder Township, PA (July 11, 2022) – A motor vehicle accident reported early Monday morning in Carbon County, Pennsylvania claimed the lives of three people. Just after 12:45 a.m., on July 11, the Pennsylvania State Police responded to the scene of a crash on Interstate 80.

Reports provided by PSP Fern Ridge show that a commercial vehicle and a passenger van collided on the eastbound side of Interstate 80 in the area of mile marker 276.

Several people involved in the accident were rendered aid at the scene by responding troopers prior to the arrival of EMS.

Multiple victims were transported to Geisinger Wyoming Valley for the treatment of injuries. A total of three people involved in the accident suffered fatal injuries.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
