Johnstown, PA (June 11, 2023) – Around 6:30 p.m. on the evening of Saturday, June 10, a man was killed in a fatal motorcycle accident in Johnstown.
According to Cambria County officials, the accident happened on Scalp Avenue. Police confirmed that a motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on Scalp Avenue when, suddenly, a vehicle pulled out of the Dairy Queen parking lot nearby. The motorcycle was struck by the vehicle, causing the motorcyclist to become ejected onto the ground.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other local responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The motorcyclist, identified as 53-year-old Kirk Allen Young, was rushed to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center for treatment of severe injuries. He was tragically pronounced deceased while there.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for some time. This led to delays until the scene was cleared.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
We offer our warmest condolences to the family and friends of the victim whose life was lost in this accident.
