Jefferson Hills, PA – One Killed in Pedestrian Accident on PA-51 Near Sunoco
Jefferson Hills, PA (November 27, 2022) – One person lost their life in a pedestrian accident that took place on a major roadway in Jefferson Hills on the evening of Saturday, November 26.
According to Allegheny County officials, the accident happened around 6:08 p.m. on PA-51 near the local Sunoco. Police confirmed that a pedestrian was either walking alongside the road or crossing the street when they were struck by a passenger vehicle. Police did not say if the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian, who has not yet been formally identified, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. It is not known if anyone else sustained injuries in the accident.
The roadway was blocked entirely in the area until police cleared the scene. This led to delays for some time.
No further details have been released but the investigation into the collision remains ongoing.
