Houtzdale, PA (August 1, 2022) – On Monday morning, August 1, a man was killed in a fatal motorcycle accident that took place in Houtzdale.

According to Clearfield County officials, the accident happened on West Hannah Street in the early morning hours. Police confirmed that a motorcyclist was traveling in the area when his vehicle collided with a passenger vehicle that was waiting to make a turn. After the two vehicles collided, the motorcycle overturned.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The motorcyclist, identified as 63-year-old Daniel Reader, was thrown off of his motorcycle. He sustained injuries in the accident and was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the passenger vehicle was also injured and taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center. However, they are expected to receive a full recovery.

Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible.
