Harrisburg, PA – Charter Bus Crash on I-81 Results in Fatal Injuries
Harrisburg, PA (August 7, 2023) – The Pennsylvania State Police out of Dauphin County responded to the scene of a major bus accident that occurred on Sunday evening, August 6.
According to PSP reports, a charter bus crash took place on the southbound side of Interstate 81 at around 11:50 p.m. Heavy rain may have played a role in the accident.
The incident involved a bus that was traveling on the highway when it struck an embankment for unknown reasons. The vehicle then crashed into the rear of a sedan on the roadway and flipped over. The bus came to rest on its side.
Three passengers on the bus were fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene. Multiple other victims were injured in the accident. Emergency medical services transported the victims to a hospital in the Hershey area for emergency care.
The state police are investigating the accident.
