Franklin Township, PA (July 22, 2024) – A Pennsylvania man was killed on Sunday, July 21, after a motorcycle crash, state police reported.
Troopers said the 21-year-old man was driving a Honda CRF 450RL Sunday around 11:30 p.m. on Huntingdon Furnace Road (State Route 4013). The incident occurred shortly thereafter, though officers did not say how many drivers were ultimately involved in the incident. While police said he was wearing a helmet, the motorcyclist was ultimately declared dead by Huntingdon County Deputy Coroner Dave Dick. However, no further details were released about other possible injured victims or the events leading up to the incident. Witnesses were asked to come forward in the meantime. The local police is currently investigating the crash.
We extend our deepest condolences to the deceased man's family. Our thoughts are with any injured victims in hopes of their full recovery.
Motorcycle accidents can be devastating. Here in Pennsylvania, these accidents cause hundreds of injuries every year. Data show that there were nearly 4,000 motorcycle accidents reported in Pennsylvania in just a single recent year alone. This number continues to increase year after year. Unfortunately, those who are involved in motorcycle accidents are likely to suffer severe injuries that affect their lives forever.
It is still possible for motorcyclists to have serious injuries that will have a lasting impact on their lives, even if they are wearing helmets when they are involved in accidents. This is because they have very little protection during accidents, and their bodies are left entirely exposed to the hit. For this reason, they are unable to defend themselves.
The impact of a motor vehicle accident can be far-reaching. Many victims face significant financial burdens that make it even more difficult to move forward. Trying to cover the cost of medical care and vehicle repairs while dealing with the impact of lost wages can be incredibly difficult. Unfortunately, victims and their families often suffer together. After being injured in an accident, victims must be aware of the legal options that they have. Some of the damages that motorcycle crash victims face include:
