The crash remains under active investigation.
We wish a steady recovery to those involved.
After a crash, a person can typically request a copy of the police report by contacting the agency that responded, often through an online portal, in person, or by mail, once the report has been completed.
It can take anywhere from several days to a few weeks for a report to become available, since officers need time to finish their investigation, particularly in a multi-vehicle crash like this one where determining each driver's role takes longer than a routine two-car collision. Requesters are usually asked to provide the date, location, and names of those involved to help locate the correct file.
A police report can help establish basic facts about how a crash happened, though it generally reflects the responding officer's initial assessment rather than a final determination of fault. Pennsylvania's modified comparative negligence rule means an injured driver can still recover compensation as long as they're found 50% or less at fault, so a car accident lawyer can review the report closely to flag any inaccuracies before they shape how an insurance company handles the claim.
