Ebensburg, PA – Mitchell Teeter and Child Killed in Fatal Crash on Duman Rd
Ebensburg, PA (March 21, 2023) – Two people were killed in a fatal car accident that took place in Ebensburg on the evening of Monday, March 20.
According to Pennsylvania State Police, the accident happened at 5:08 p.m. on Duman Road. Police confirmed that an adult male identified as Mitchell Teeter was traveling north in a Volkswagen Jetta. Teeter suddenly collided with a Volkswagen Tiguan head-on due to reasons that are still under investigation. The involved vehicles were extensively damaged.
Several local responders, including EMS crews and fire crews, were called to the scene. Teeter was severely injured and was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. The six-year-old passenger inside the Tiguan was also severely injured and rushed to UPMC Children’s Hospital by medical helicopter. While in the hospital, they were tragically pronounced deceased. The driver of the Tiguan was hospitalized but is expected to recover.
Due to the severity of the collision, Duman Road was closed around the area of Duman Lake County Park until 8:50 p.m. This led to extensive delays in the area.
No further details have been released at this time. The investigation into the collision remains ongoing.
