Chambersburg, PA (April 7, 2022) – A child was hurt in a pedestrian accident that took place on a roadway in Chambersburg on Thursday afternoon, April 7.
According to Chambersburg Police, the accident happened at 4:03 p.m. at 400 Fifth Avenue. A child was walking in the area when they started to cross the street in the area. They were suddenly struck by an SUV that did not see them and was unable to stop in time. The driver of the SUV remained at the scene following the collision.
Several local responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The child was transported to Chambersburg Hospital for treatment of their injuries and is expected to be okay.
Due to the severity of the collision, the roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
