Brownsville, PA – Child Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Green St

Brownsville, PA (August 11, 2022) – A child was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident that took place on a road in Brownsville on Thursday evening, August 11.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, the accident happened around 5:14 p.m. on Green Street. Police confirmed that a driver was traveling in the area when they suddenly struck a 1-year-old child who was crossing the street. The exact circumstances leading up to the accident are not entirely known.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The 1-year-old child was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. Nobody else was injured in the accident.

The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for an extended period of time. Police arrested the 58-year-old driver of the passenger vehicle that struck the child. They did not state what charges the driver is now facing.
