Apollo, PA (February 27, 2022) – Three people were seriously injured in a collision that took place in Apollo on Saturday morning, February 26.
According to local officials, the accident happened in the early morning hours on Greensburg Road near the area of Ashbaugh Road. Three vehicles were traveling in the area when they allegedly collided with each other due to reasons that are not fully known. The vehicles involved in the accident sustained heavy damages as a result.
Several responders, including local paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. Two people sustained serious injuries and were flown to the hospital by medical helicopter. Another injured victim was taken to the hospital by ambulance. Police confirmed that the victims were trapped in their vehicles and had to be extricated by fire crews.
The roadway was blocked in the area for a period of time, which led to extensive delays. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
