York Co, PA – Deadly Two-Vehicle Crash Occurs on Mt Airy Rd at Buchanan Ave
York County, PA (August 4, 2024) – Police are investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred Saturday evening, August 3, in Shrewsbury Township, York County.
According to a release from the York County Coroner’s Office, at 6:15 p.m., a coroner was dispatched to the Mt. Airy Road and Buchanan Avenue area in Shrewsbury Township for a reported crash. The officers’ news release said that, upon investigation, the coroner determined that a vehicle driven by a 61-year-old female had reportedly crashed into a second vehicle with two occupants just after 6:00 p.m. The release cites the deceased victim’s cause of death as multiple blunt force trauma due to a motor vehicle crash.
One person was pronounced deceased at the scene at 7:00 p.m., and the two occupants of the other vehicle were transported from the scene, per the release. There was no word on the other two occupants’ conditions or the cause of the crash. Pennsylvania State Police are investigating, and officers asked for witnesses to get in touch with additional information.
