Wyalusing, PA – Fatal Motorcycle Crash Involving Truck on Rte 706

Wyalusing, PA (May 16, 2022) – After 9 a.m. on Monday morning, May 16, a fatal motorcycle accident took place on a roadway in Wyalusing.

The accident, according to Susquehanna officials, took place on Route 706 around the area of State Route 267. A motorcyclist was traveling in the area when they were suddenly struck by the driver of a dump truck due to reasons that are not entirely known. The motorcycle was badly damaged as a result of the accident.

Paramedics, fire crews, and a coroner was called to the scene to help. The Susquehanna County Coroner pronounced the driver of the motorcycle deceased at the scene. It is not known if anyone was injured in the collision.

Due to the severity of the accident, a large portion of the road was blocked in the area for some time. PennDOT issued a statement around 11:50 a.m. that the road was reopened in the area.

The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
