Westmoreland Co, PA - Two Hurt in Wrong-Way Crash on Rte 30 at Cedar Rd

Westmoreland County, PA (April 25, 2025) – Pennsylvania State Police troopers in Westmoreland County are working to figure out how a driver got on the wrong side of Route 30, causing a crash that sent two people to the hospital.

The incident happened on Wednesday night, April 23, on Route 30 just past the Cedar Road exit in Hempfield Township. Investigators believe an 83-year-old woman entered Route 30 going the wrong way at the Mt. Pleasant Road interchange. The woman and the driver of the pickup truck she hit were transported to Forbes Regional Hospital, both in serious condition. Pennsylvania State Police troopers are handling the investigation in the interim. No further details were released in the interim.
