Towamencin Township, PA (September 22, 2024) – According to PennDOT, emergency crews were dispatched for a vehicle rescue at mile marker 28 of the Pennsylvania Turnpike early Sunday morning, September 22, after a two-vehicle accident left one car overturned in Towamencin Township.
Around 1:30 a.m., arriving crews encountered a black Volkswagen sedan overturned and a heavily damaged black four-door sedan with its airbags deployed. All three of the southbound lanes were at a standstill for just under 45 minutes as crews worked to clear the scene.
Two people were transported via ambulance in unknown condition to area hospitals, and both vehicles were towed from the scene. Pennsylvania State Police troopers were assisted at the scene by Towamencin Fire Company and Volunteer Medical Services of Lansdale. No further details were released, however, and an inquiry into the wreck is ongoing.
