Sunbury, PA (April 26, 2022) – One person was killed in a fatal truck accident that took place at an intersection in Sunbury on Monday morning, April 25.
According to Northumberland County officials, the accident happened around 9 a.m. at the intersection of PA-890 and PA-61. A tractor-trailer was headed through the intersection at the same time as a passenger vehicle when the two forcefully collided with each other. The accident led to extensive damages to the involved vehicles.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One person, who has not yet been identified, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. It is not known if anyone was hurt in the accident.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for an extended period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues. Police will update with more information as it becomes available.
