August 13, 2025

St. Clair, PA (August 13, 2025) – Firefighters from both Allegheny County and Washington County were dispatched to the scene of a house fire in Upper St. Clair on Wednesday morning.

The fire broke out a little after 4:30 a.m. on the 1400 block of Old Meadow Road. Washington County 911 dispatchers confirmed that a crew from Peters Township responded to assist. Two adults, a child, and the dog were able to get out of the house while firefighters worked the flames. EMTs also responded to the scene, but the extent of the residents' injuries was not confirmed.

Crews continued working to put out hot spots for some time after the initial response. The cause of the fire has not been determined, and the Allegheny County Fire Marshal is handling the ongoing inquiry. Meanwhile, no further details were released, but witnesses were asked to get in touch.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims in hopes of their full recovery.

House Fires in Pennsylvania

Residential fires take place every single day in Pennsylvania. Though some are quickly brought under control by fire crews, others blaze out of control and lead to extensive damage. Some fires lead to fatalities for those involved. In 2020, it was reported that approximately six people were killed out of every 1,000 fires throughout Pennsylvania. Losing somebody you love in a house fire or a commercial fire can be a devastating thing to experience. This is why families are urged to speak with an attorney who has previously handled these types of accidents.

The aftermath of a fire can be a difficult thing to face, especially if somebody that you love has been taken from you prematurely. As you are grieving the immense loss of a loved one, you should not have to worry about how you will afford to pay the bills that pile up against you. It can be stressful to face a wrongful death claim entirely on your own, which is why you should never delay when it comes to seeking help.
