Our thoughts remain with those affected as they continue to receive care and recover from their injuries.
Not every injury from a crash is obvious at the scene. After an accident, many people walk away thinking they’re fine—only to feel sore or unwell hours later. This happens because adrenaline can mask pain in the moments after a crash. Soft tissue injuries, whiplash, and even concussions may take time to show symptoms.
That’s why medical professionals often recommend getting checked, even if you feel okay right after the crash.
Rear-end crashes or side-impact collisions at intersections can cause a range of delayed injuries. Common issues include neck stiffness, back pain, headaches, or bruising. Without early treatment, some of these injuries may get worse over time or require longer recovery periods. Getting prompt care also helps connect your injuries directly to the accident.
Medical visits help document the extent of harm, track healing progress, and assist with any follow-up treatment you may need. Keeping this documentation organized also becomes important if you file an insurance claim later. It’s also a good idea to hold onto other records like receipts, prescriptions, and reports related to the crash.
A personal injury attorney can walk you through what to expect after an accident. They can review your medical records, help you understand what compensation may be available, and explain how insurance processes typically work. Even if you’re unsure whether legal action is needed, having a lawyer review your situation can provide clarity about next steps.
