Southampton Township, PA (April 28, 2025) – Two people were killed in a crash on Route 696 in Franklin County on Monday, April 28, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
The deadly crash happened on Olde Scotland Road/Route 696 near Pineville Road in Southampton Township around 10:00 a.m.
State police said a Ford rear-ended a Mercury, causing the Mercury to swerve in front of a Volvo traveling in the other direction. The Volvo then lost control and ended up in a field. The driver and a passenger in the Mercury were killed, troopers said. Allen Pensinger and Alberta Pensinger were both 82 years old and from Shippensburg.
