Pittsburgh, PA (November 12, 2025) – Emergency crews responded early Wednesday morning to a vehicle accident near the UPMC Research Pavilion along Centre Avenue in Pittsburgh. The call came in around 4:54 a.m., reporting that someone had been ejected from a vehicle after a crash in the area.
When first responders arrived, they found one injured person who had been thrown from the vehicle during the impact. Despite the seriousness of the situation, the victim was standing, conscious, and bleeding. Paramedics provided immediate care at the scene before preparing the person for transport to a nearby medical facility for further treatment. There have been no updates released regarding the victim’s condition.
Authorities temporarily closed portions of Centre Ave while emergency personnel assisted the injured individual and ensured the roadway was safe. The vehicle involved stayed at the scene as crews continued their response. Officials have not released information about any additional occupants or whether anyone else was hurt. No further details about the cause of the crash have been provided in the initial report.
We wish the victim and everyone involved a full and speedy recovery.
Accidents near major medical facilities such as the UPMC Research Pavilion often prompt quick emergency responses. Centre Ave is located in a high-traffic area that serves hospital staff, patients, visitors, and commercial vehicles. Because of this, collisions in the region can create immediate safety concerns for both drivers and pedestrians. These incidents also tend to cause delays while crews clear the roadway and assist anyone who is hurt.
Crashes that involve a vehicle ejection are especially dangerous. Being thrown from a car often leads to serious injuries, including head trauma, broken bones, and internal injuries. Even when a victim appears alert or able to stand, medical professionals warn that hidden injuries can still be present. For this reason, anyone ejected from a vehicle should be examined quickly and carefully to rule out complications that may develop after the crash.
