Philadelphia, PA (July 5, 2022) – On Sunday night, July 3, a woman was killed in a fatal tow truck accident that took place in Philadelphia.

According to Philadelphia Police, the accident happened on Lincoln Drive around the area of Emlen Street in the Mount Airy section of the city. A woman was headed south on Emlen in her passenger vehicle when it was suddenly T-boned at Lincoln Drive by a tow truck. The woman’s vehicle went off the side of the road after the two vehicles collided.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other local responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. When EMS crews arrived at the scene to assist the female victim, she was tragically pronounced deceased due to traumatic injuries. The driver of the tow truck was not hurt but remained at the scene.

The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time following the collision.
