Cochranton, PA – Two Killed in Fatal Truck Crash at US-322 & Ridgeway Hill Rd

Cochranton, PA (July 7, 2022) – Around 9 a.m. on Thursday morning, July 7, two people were killed in a fatal truck accident in Cochranton.

According to Crawford County officials, the accident happened at the intersection of US-322 and Ridgeway Hill Road. A tractor-trailer was traveling south on Ridgeway when it pulled out in front of a sedan. The driver of the sedan was unable to stop in time, causing the two vehicles to forcefully collide with one another.

Several responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. Two people inside the sedan were tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. The two victims were identified as the driver, 49-year-old Tracy Kope, and her passenger, 62-year-old Jay Scott. A third person in the sedan was seriously injured and rushed to a local hospital for treatment.

The roadway was blocked in the area for several hours as police worked to clear the scene.

No further details have been released at this time but the investigation continues. Police will update with more information as it becomes available.
